French Energy saving from 2005 to 2014

FRANCE – The French Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy has released statistics showing the energy savings made for different sectors over the period 2005 – 2014. The statistics provide some welcome good news for home owners while showing that progress can still be made in other business sectors.
The figures show that by far the greatest energy savings were made in residential buildings, with the energy saved representing 75% of the total energy saved in all sectors over the given period. The Service industry sector came in a distant second, with energy savings accounting for 13% of the total energy saved. Industrial and manufacturing premises were next on the list, accruing 7% of the total energy saved while networks accounted for 2% of the total energy savings. Bringing up the rear were the agriculture and transport sectors which each have 1% of the total energy savings over the ten year period.
