USA – KB Home, one of America’s largest and most recognized homebuilders, have today announced that, henceforth, all of its homes in newly built communities, opening in 2016 and beyond, would now include a Carrier Côr thermostat.

Carrier claim that their Côr smart thermostat provides the convenience of smart device remote access while also improving system efficiency. The thermostat should ensure that users can control their home’s heating and cooling conveniently from any internet-connected device and monitor their energy usage, or, alternatively, users may opt to let the smart technology automatically optimize their home’s energy needs.

KB homes stated that their decision to incorporate the Côr thermostat as a standard feature of its new builds is the latest step in a series of continual energy efficiency improvements to its new homes. This new feature is consistent with the company’s energy efficient policy as all KB homes are ENERGY STAR® certified and also include WaterSense® labeled fixtures as well as other features in their ongoing commitment to building smarter, healthier, more sustainable homes.

Dan Bridleman, the senior vice president of Sustainability, Technology & Strategic Sourcing at KB Home, announced today’s decision, saying “As one of the nation’s leading homebuilders, we understand the importance of designing our homes to support today’s connected lifestyles.” Mr Bridleman continued, declaring “By equipping every new KB home with Carrier’s innovative Côr thermostat, we empower our homeowners to take greater control of their home’s energy usage, right from their fingertips.”
