Changes in Grundfos Group head team

Søren Ø. Sørensen, the Executive Vice President of Grundfos Group is leaving. Poul Due Jensen, member of the Group Management team will now take over the position of Senior Vice President.

The Executive Vice President Søren Ø. Sørensen held the position for 26 years in the Grundfos Group. Now aged 55, he plans to leave his post at the end of the year. He was responsible for sales and marketing department and a member of senior management Grundfos since 2003.

“I had an incredible career in an incredible company during quite a few years, so now I want to pursue other dreams and change activities, and provide consulting services to other companies. I got to a point where I want to achieve those dreams that I could not materialise. I am very happy about it, even though I feel sadness and gratitude after many good years at Grundfos “said Søren Ø. Sørensen before continuing “I was on board for the good and the bad times. I pushed a sales organisation of more than 6,000 people in all corners of the world. This has been an extraordinary journey – regarding business and my career. I will not hold that Grundfos has taken a lot of space in my life. And I’m very proud to have been part of achieving many remarkable results, but at the same time, I am also humble and grateful for my job. ”

When Søren Ø. Sørensen joined Grundfos in 1989, the group had a turnover of 2.0 billion Danish kroner. Now it stands at nearly $ 25 billion. In 1989, he joined Grundfos as head of the marketing department after a career at Danfoss. Later, he also held the position of Director of Grundfos Japan.

“Søren has been an invaluable asset to Grundfos for many years. He is a great seller and leader. It has the ability to manage and enhance sales, marketing and staff in order to make us gain market share. Søren is a decision maker who creates results. He will be missed. Grundfos is deeply grateful to him for his efforts and we wish him the best of luck in his future endeavours,” said the chairman of the Grundfos Group DU7 Group, Mr. Mads Nipper.

Søren Ø. Sørensen does not leave before the end of the year and will still be responsible for the group to reach sales targets and budgets for 2014. However, the Group President, Mr. Mads Nipper, has already appointed his successor. The new Vice President of the group and senior member of the management group will be Poul Due Jensen, who has just returned to the company´s headquarters after many years as Regional Director for Asia and the Pacific based in Singapore.

“Poul has experienced Grundfos since he was a child. He has worked in various management positions including sales and marketing in Asia, including Australia, New Zealand, the United States and Canada, and has set up extensive experience and comprehensive knowledge. Poul is the natural successor after Søren and it pleases me that Poul has agreed to assume his duties at the end of the year “, says the president of Grundfos, Mr. Mads Nipper.
