Renewal of Trane Chillers Offer

The American manufacturer has introduced new Trane chillers on the market. These facilities, with a capacity ranging from 20 to 14 000 kilowatts, already form part of the implementation of the Ecodesign Directive.

Trane, a brand of the American group Ingersoll Rand, has expanded its offer for chillers on the market with a new range of innovative and reliable liquid chillers. The company launched these products in order to expand its market share. It thus relied on the quality and products that meet customer expectations in the direction of the group.

The launch of these new products on the market for the company is also a big step in the implementation of the Ecodesign Directive. The new chillers meet the requirements of this Directive. According to Andrea Voigt, EPEE Director General (the European partnership for energy and the environment), 80% of the current market chillers should disappear in a few years.

A new range of chillers
Trane put on the market a total of five new models of chillers according to Jeff Moe, marketing manager of the company. It took care to vary the powers to enable consumers to find the equipment that meets their needs. The power of new chillers indeed varies between 20 and 14 000 kW. They can equip a building of 3 000 to 20 000 sqm with outdoor temperatures between -12 ° C and 50 ° C and can range from -18 ° C to 52 ° C in some cases.

EMEA´s product manager – Bruno Girotti – explained the use of new techniques in the development of these new chillers. The aluminium exchangers require the use of microchannels. The regulation systems have been adapted to the communications protocols and connected to the Internet. The company had to find an internal solution for the design Inverter point compatible with the compressors and pumps. Fans on the new chillers are equipped with EC motors with a permanent magnet to reduce the noise level and the size of the equipment.

The new chillers are: RTHD evo, Síntesis, Stealth Series E CenTraVac and Conquest. They are equipped with an air / air or air / water or air / water heat pump according to their power. The life span of the equipment varies between 15 and 30 years.
