UK – Foster & Partners were the worthy winners of the award for the non-domestic ground source project winner on Thursday at the National ACR awards in Birmingham. The company landed the prize for their work on the South London campus.

The winning project originated when the architects Foster & Partners wanted to improve energy efficiency at their central London campus by moving away from traditional gas supply. The architecture, design and engineering firm were keen to use the project to demonstrate the effectiveness of renewable technology in an internal project.

The jury also took the opportunity to highly commend the project of SMS (Specialist Mechanical Services) in their work on the Montrose Port Authority in what proved to be a very keenly fought category.
