GERMANY – The global technology manufacturer Emerson officially opened The Europe Solution Centre, a new €8 million facility, on the 8th of December in Aachen as part of their Climate Technologies business. The Europe Solution Centre is a central plank in Emerson’s long-term strategy of developing integrated solutions to help companies address the pressing challenges facing the European heating, cooling and refrigeration industry. These challenges include issues such as increasing energy efficiency, promoting sustainability and improving system connectivity.

David N. Farr, the chairman and CEO of Emerson, Jean Janssen, the president of Emerson Climate Technologies Europe, and Marcel Philipp, the Mayor of Aachen, presided over last week’s ceremony.

The official unveiling of the new facility revealed a laboratory where engineers can work directly with customers in a bid to develop and test integrated solutions and advanced services. Emerson claim that the state-of-the-art laboratory will utilizes the company’s compressor technology and electronic controls for residential and commercial heating and cooling systems and refrigeration systems, such as those used in supermarkets. Emerson also revealed that the new facility includes meeting and office spaces where it can hold training sessions and workshops for its employees and its customers.

Emerson Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, David N. Farr, declared the facility open for business, stating “The new Europe Solution Center in Aachen for our Climate Technologies business is the latest milestone on our journey to support our customers in Europe.” Mr Farr outlined the company’s strategy in designing the facility, declaring “It is important for us to be positioned to help our European customers grow and prosper.”

The new centre is expected to further strengthen the company’s presence in the European HVACR marketplace and will work alongside the five factories and four engineering centres that are currently exclusively focused on its Climate Technologies business in Europe.

Jean Janssen, President of Emerson Climate Technologies Europe, outlined the company’s aims in Europe, commmenting “Our goal is to take our commitment to technology, innovation and customer service in Europe to the next level, and create an environment where creativity and open-mindedness are encouraged. We want to design and deliver solutions in cooperation with our customers to master the HVACR industry´s challenges of today and tomorrow.”

As part of the official opening ceremony, guests were provided with guided tours to gather insights on the new facility and its testing and measurement equipment.
