Alpha Air become UK Toshiba distributor

UK – Toshiba have announced that they are to continue to expand their UK distribution network by appointing Alpha Air Building Management Systems as a distributor of its full range of air conditioning products. The two companies confirmed that their agreement would cover Toshiba split systems, heat pumps and high efficiency VRF air conditioning. The VRF air conditioning systems will also include the manufacturer’s latest product, the SMMS-e VRF system, launched last month, which complements Alpha Air’s focus on end user and specification sales. The deal means that Alpha Air will supply Toshiba products on an exclusive basis and forms part of Toshiba’s ambitious growth strategy to achieve their stated objective of doubling sales by 2020, as announced earlier this year.
Steve Shoubridge, the president of Alpha Air welcomed the agreement, commenting “The Toshiba product is outstanding in terms of efficiency and reliability. The company is also leading the industry in terms of warranty and support. We believe a combination of Toshiba air conditioning and Alpha Air building controls will provide end users with a complete solution that will be hard to beat.”
The agreement is also consistent with Alpha Air’s strategy of collaborating with a number of national chains, such as food retailers, car manufacturers and financial services companies, on the roll-out of its new approach to managing and controlling HVAC plant in multi-branch estates.
“The key is energy efficiency and sustainability,” declared Mr Shoubridge. “Nationals have a number of objectives – they want to reduce running costs for their estates and cut carbon emissions, while ensuring a productive and comfortable environment for staff and customers. Toshiba’s new SMMS-e, in particular, is a star product that delivers exceptional savings, while ensuring the resilience and reliability required for high quality buildings.”
Meanwhile, on behalf of Toshiba, David Dunn, director of Toshiba Air Conditioning UK and Ireland, expressed his satisfaction at reaching the deal with Alpha Air, saying “I am delighted to welcome Steve and Alpha Air colleagues to the Toshiba network. Given the company’s dynamism, deep market experience and excellent contacts, I am confident they will make a significant contribution to our growth plans for the future.”
Mr Dunn concluded by declaring “The opportunities in the industry for fully integrated systems, that combine high level controls and state-of-the-art air conditioning, are huge. We look forward to working with Steve and the team over the coming months and years to develop this potential.”
The new agreement sees Alpha Air join existing Toshiba distributors AMP Air, Cool Designs, CSD, DYSK and Hushon in the UK, plus GT Phelan in Ireland, as well as nationwide wholesaler Climate Center.
